Stable name plaques are my most ordered product. I offer two different types – the very popular ‘horse portrait’ stable plaques painted from a photo of your own horse, or a simple name only with no image.
Plaques come in two sizes – 12″ x 4.5″ which I normally use for horse portraits, and a slightly smaller 10″ x 3.5″ which I use for names only – however the choice is yours if requested.
All plaques are hand cut and edged by myself from quality pine. Wood is a natural product and so there will be ‘imperfections’ – knots, grain, slight variations in colour and surface. For me, this is part of the joy of a natural product, however by cutting the blanks myself I am able to discard sections with unpleasant knots, cracks or heavy grain that will detract from the painting.
My signs are hand painted with acrylic paints, which are durable and hard-wearing (as well as giving you a huge choice of colours!) They are then varnished with a quality clear exterior wood varnish (please see my Care of Your Outdoor Sign page). Due to drying times, the varnishing process alone takes a minimum of a week, meaning I cannot turn around orders for stable plaques in less than ten days to two weeks – please bear this in mind if ordering for a gift! I also get heavily booked up at times (in particular Christmas).
I am also able to pre-paint the wood a solid colour before painting the name/portrait – there is an extra charge of £5 for name only plaques and £10 for portrait plaques for this.
Stable name plaques cost £21 for a name only, and £39 for one with a portrait. Please see my Reference Photo Guide page and Care of Your Outdoor Sign page before ordering. (Prices plus £4 postage per order)
